Keep them in Bags, and Kill them off within 2 months of their first heat cycle. IMHO once you heat cycle them they are on a Clock and will Die off weither used or not Very quickly. Bagging them tends to keep the life a little longer.

Keep in mind that Mrsideways has his name for a reason 
. He may be a bit harder on tires than your average autocross driver. But then, he's a bit faster too...
Personally I get about 10 events out of my Kumhos.

I like to go by runs rather than events because different regions have different number of runs, plus fun runs, codrivers, etc.
Here's my data over the last 4 years and 2 cars:
Surfaces: 75%/25% asphalt/concrete
Runs/event: 3+ occasional fun runs, codrivers
Events/year: 40+
Cars: 1) stock Z3 Coupe, 29xx lbs front/rear, 193hp and 2) stock MR2 n/a, 25xx lbs, mid/rear, 130hp
Life of a full tread set of Victos:
Typically 60-80 runs on car 1, 80-100+ on car 2 until corded or so dead they don't wear anymore. Big variation depending on how fast you use them up- as Ian mentioned when new rubber is soft, could kill them very quickly. As they age, they wear slower and slower but will also start to suck so bad you wish they would just die. Despite what TireRack says about shaving, shaved Victos are most definitely faster. Full treads are good for rain and have longer absolute life, but you never have the combination of fresh rubber and no tread squirm. In the beginning you have fresh rubber but tread squirm, as the tread wears down to optimum the rubber also ages. Then again, a full tread victo is generally fine for what you'd use a victo for anyway.
