Another SCCA T3 build...
Hello!
Just wanted to post up that I am in the very beginning stages of building a T3 car.
I have an 08 CR and will likely complete the build this winter, get licensed and test/tune for 2011 and fully compete in 2012.
I will work hard to not ask any 'stupid' questions, but for now...are we allowed to run a single exhaust or does it have to remain dual?
Rules state: '...replacement system must retain original configuration...' but then later states '...when factory single is cosmetically split into dual outlets it's permitted to continue as a single...'
Does that pertain to us? Are we cosmetic duals or true duals?
Thanks
Ryan
bio (in case anyone is interested):
SCCA autocrosser from 1998-2004
Former B Stock regional champ in BMW 325i
WERA and CCS motorcycle racer 2005-2009
loved it but walking away from it while I can
Enjoyed many open track days in my previous S ('03) but never raced it competitively...very much looking forward to this new chapter of having a full-blown S2000 racecar

I'm going to guess from those rules that a single exhaust is alright. Since we only have one exhaust manifold, and it is collected into a single pipe, then split into duals after a cat and a resonator, I think it is safe to say that our duals are cosmetic.

I agree the wording's a bit ambiguous, but singles appear to be accepted as legal in Touring since everyone runs them. I imagine that any split of a single exhaust pipe into two (as is the case on the S2000) is considered cosmetic.
