Maybe you could rig it so you could put back the stock seat for auto-x where the risk of rollover is much less. I swap my stock and race seats back and forth.

Doesn't a rollbar also take you out of stock?

The roll bar is not part of the stock classification. As you get into the fully prepared and modified classes a bar is mandatory in an open car. Folks would probably like a stock calss car to have a rollbar since it adds weight up high...

Nope, perfectly legal. A bar is required in stock class for convertibles if you want to run harnesses. Of course, you can't change the seat and stay in stock class.
