Default Alignment with RCA and I only got to -2.0

Hello All,

I need some help.

I have a MY00 stock suspension.

I took it to Evasive today to get the J's RCA J1 for the front so I can increase my max neg camber. My goal was max caster and -3.3 camber. (was this realistic?)

They also installed my new 949 wheels.

When Kel gave me the post alignments specs we were both shocked to see that the right side was maxed out at -2.04 camber.

I just bought this car so Im not sure if any previous owner hit a curb or two. There is no evidence of an accident either front or rear.

My question is I have no clue where to start in replacing parts that might be bent.

Where should I start and also where can I pick up these items.

Thanks,

Stock ride height.

Caster is 5.5 ish on both sides.

The limiting factor was the right side. It was only able to go to -2.0 with the RCA. I'd hate to see what it would have been without it.

The left was only able to max at -2.8.

I've looked into upper A-arms but I would like to know if I should replace the Knuckle as well?

I've never aligned the car before, I just bought it 30 days ago.

Since its going to see 90% track time I want to get this straightened out.

I'll measure ride height to see if something is obviously wrong.

I've pulled the wheels and I can find anything obviously bent.

Could it be old and warn out bushings? If so anyone know how many there are in the front?

Ok after some reasearch it looks like I have the L1 joints. Per J's website I should have purchased the S2. Here is a clip from thier website:

"A concern of the S2000 setting is a limited adjustable range of the front camber. J’s Racing camber joint provides extra degree of negative camber by de-centering the lower ball point. L1 and L2 have a roll center adjustment function to correct the front roll center position for S2000 whose height has been reduced more than 40mm. L1 and L2 come with an adjustment plate. By removing the adjustment plate, L1 and L2 can be used as S1 and S2 for a S2000 with the ride height up to 40mm down."

S1 - Extra 2 degree adjustment for a S2000 with a stock height up to 40mm down
S2 - Extra 3 degree adjustment for a S2000 with a stock height up to 40mm down
L1 - Extra 2 degree adjustment for a S2000 with more than 40mm down (can be used as S1 without the adj plate)
L2 - Extra 3 degree adjustment for a S2000 with more than 40mm down (can be used as S2 without the adj plate)

This is probably why my expectations were off. Is it normal to have a max variance from side to side of -.5 degrees?

No.

I don't know if it's the case on the S2000 (someone else chime in), but on Miatas people loosen the bolts holding on the front subframe, shift it slightly sideways to even out the maximum camber per side, then tighten it down again.
