alignment conversion - inches to degrees
This is for a friend of mine who's about to get an alignment and run in some local autocross events.
We've both searched (S2ki and Honda Tech) and read several posts about other S2k owners who compete seriously and just enthusiasts. The consensus seems to be: front toe = 1/8th inches (AP1 car with OE tires/sizes)
Question: what is the conversion of 1/8th inches to degrees so that the Acura dealership can do the alignment?
Thanks.

A simple search on here with keywords "degree toe inch" brings up this first link:
AP2 alignment specs for tire longevity
Maybe the search engine here is not that bad afterall.

Maybe I'm not seeing what you're seeing OR ... maybe i didn't specify what we're looking for.
He wants to run the recommended specs from most of the autoX competitors with AP1 cars (not AP2 ... they differ in several ways compared to the AP1). It's been suggested to run 1/8th inch of toe.
Just trying to convert that to degrees so that the Acura tech can dial it in. He's done the conversion once ... just trying to justify his numbers so that we know that the math is correct.
Thanks.

Here's my calculator to convert from inches to degrees and back. Of course, you need Excel.

thanks.
Spa,
Can you just write that excel formula out for me here on the post? I don't have excel on my laptop (yet), but i do have a MS spreadsheet program that will probably still work.
Thanks again.
btw ... in the 'old days' i always used to hear that toe-IN made turn-in quicker (outside/loaded tire already at increased turn angle) . Is that not the case?

Is that toe in or toe out? I ran 1/8th toe out my first season with the S. The inside 1/3rd of tread on my front SO2s was toast in 11k miles! I've since gone to 0 toe in front. Saves on tire wear, and the S turns in so well, I don't think toe out is necessary anyway.
