Default Advice on handling...same wheel & tire size but

below are the same wheel with the same tire size, but just different offset. would you get better handling on the +45 offset wheel since +45 have a wider stance??

will there be a difference?

17x9 +45 in the rear with 255/40

VS.

17x9 +63 in the rear with 255/40

You probably won't notice the difference over the massive oversteer you will notice more.

The main issue will be rubbing, not handling. Of course, handling might be affected by the stuff you need to do to keep 'em from rubbing (ride height, camber, etc.)...

There wouldn't be more oversteer with a lower offset wheel.

I think he's assuming he's going with a non-staggered tire setup

You know what happens when you assume, right?

Sam's still running staggered, he just wonders about wether offset effects the handling.

thanks guys for the replys.

it will still be staggered but with more low offset all around like:

17x7.5 +50 front 225/45
17x9.0 +63 rear 255/40

VS.

17x7 +35 front 225/45
17x9 +45 rear 255/40
(with the lower offset, it'll be more camber and roll & minor flared)

just wondering if the lower offset would handling better or it will not make much difference. more feedback would be nice

I read that wrong...my bad.

I saw

17x9 +45 in the rear with 255/40

VS.

17x9 +63 in the rear with 255/40

and I though it was 255's all around.
