I know 255 is a bit oversized for a 8.5 rims.

But just wondering if it adversely affect handling especially on the track.

Welp, u've probably read the same stuff I have on that one: tire will be crowned and won't have the full contact patch on the pavement.Other people say u can NP,from what I gather most track addicts run 17x9 255 +63 off set on ap1 and they don't quite tuck.Lots of camber,fender roll or both.Anyone else care to chime in ?

 

255 will be more than fine on a 8.5" wheel. A 9" wheel would be more ideal but if you have 4 stock rears laying around, their's nothing wrong with that setup.

 

I use 255 on 4 rear AP2 wheels, no problem.

 

CR comes stock with a 255 on a 8.5" wheel. now a 265 will crown a bit.

 

I've run a 275 on a 8.5" wheel and it worked fine. Not optimal by any means, but it did the job.
