255 star specs on stock front wheels?
Hey guys,
Whats the consensus? Can i safely pinch a 255 star spec on my stock cr front wheel safely? Im running in rtr and would love to be able to run square. Will also be running a gendron 1.25 hollow. All input appreciated. Thanks!

Great question! I'm skeptical that the 255 street tires would work on those front rims. I know 275 Hoosier A6's can, but I figured it's sidewall can handle the pinch much better than a street tire.
BTW, for those that are running RTR, what are you guys using?

I'm running RTR and wondered about a 255 tire as well. PedalFaster(?) had great results with 255 AD08s square. Not sure if the tire/wheel is driven on the street. Hopefully he chimes in. I think I'll order staggered 225/255 Z1s and go from there.

I've run the 235 / 255 Dunlop stagger.
Also run a 235 / 255 Toyo stagger.
I've heard that a 245 / 255 Dunlop stagger works.
I don't know, but there are thoughts that a 255 street tire stagger would be optimal...

wasn't that RTR CR that won a nationals tour not to long ago on 255 square? That was my understanding? Tire choice being star specs in this situation...
The idea being set it up just like you would a bstock car with a squared set-up (typically 245 or 275 hoosiers) but run squared street tires (255s), right? Adding the stiff front bar and continuing to run smaller front tires seem like it would be a pushy and less optimal over running a squared set-up. This was proven in bstock and the reason why everyone runs a squared set-up, correct?

If 255 40's are pushing it bit to work on the stock rim.....what would u guys think of running 245 45's on front? They will definitely fit, but will they be an improvement over my current 215 45's ?
Thanks!
Thanks!
