im looking to auto x my car this year and im looking into getting some re-01r's but wanted to know if i should go with the stock ap2 size 215 and 245. or go with the cr size 215 and 255? Are there any real advantages to going to a 255 in the rear over the 245? how will it affect handling. etc. lmk thanks guys. Also i will be auto xing on stock suspension.

255 definitely...you might even consider 225 front and 255 rear.

Assuming you buy the 255: If you run the 215 front, you will notice the car understeers at the limit. Running the 225 will give a bit more balance. With either front tire, you will be able to get into the power more quickly on corner exit without experiencing oversteer.

so with 225/255 it should reduce the understeer over the stock and cr sizes? anyone else got any info to add?

Balance change isn't going to be that great between 215/245, 215/255, and 225/255.

Wider will give marginally greater grip, marginally quicker autoX times. I'd go 225/255.

I'm at 245 255 now, but I am looking to go 255 / 275

I run 225/255 and it is a great setup.

Do you need new tires yet or are you just getting them for the sake of getting them for Auto-X?

If that's the case, then I would do at least one Auto-X wtih the stock setup to get a feel for what the car is like stock.

But if you need tires, then 225/255 is good.

I just got 235/255 in the re01r's put on stock ap2's, doesn't seem pinched at the front

i'm using 225F and 255R Direzza Z1 SS' on aggressive alignment and CR front sway bar.

my first autocross in the S2K will be in April, let you guys know how it goes.

I've been running dunlop star spec 225/255 for about a year now. I have noticed strong understeer during corner entry, and slight oversteer upon exit.

I also have a 245/255 setup in which I have used for 1 event now, and the understeer in gone during my conrner entry. More oversteer is a side effect, however, I have dialed in my alignment to compensate for the oversteer and love the outcome. Still have alittle more dialing to do for my alignment to get it perfect. The vehicle is alot more predictable now. I did notice that the dunlops heat cycle out of the grip before the tread gets used on those tires. The bridgestones don't heat cycle out like the dunlops do. The dunlops have slightly more grip, but the bridgestones last longer under "harsh" use.

Im currently running kuhmo ecstas with stock AP1 tire & wheel sizes. Im going to pick up a pair of AP1 rear wheels and put stock rear size tires/wheels on the front of my S so I will have the same tires/wheels on all four corners
Im doing this so I can see if I like the way the car handles with the same at all 4, because I plan on picking up the 6ULRs (likely the 17x10s ) from 949 racing this summer
Who's tried this already? How did you like it? Would you have any reccomendations?
