Default 2400 lbs +/- with cage and sc?

I'm lost, I've been reading a bunch of threads with guys who's cars are down to 2300-2400 lbs range fully caged, and some of these are with SC'ers!

So my car with Asura exhaust (now with stock ap1) weighed 2655 empty with hardog bar and not gutted, just all the behind the seats stuff removed.

Cage is going in next month, just don't see where all the savings are to be had. I already have some lightweight gear. I've read through the threads and still it's not adding up for me.

Really want to stick to TT2 for aero allowences but want to drop weight and lower whp. I'd be really really happy to et car down to 2400lbs with cage!

One requirement is I still need to meet 89db limit so I'll probably need to have some lightweight very restrictive exhaust fab'd up

I'm going to start tearing car apart in the next month while waiting for cage builder to be ready.

Gut out the soft top, motors and panels behind you and replace with a carbon fiber hardtop. That should save over 100 lbs. There other things too like light seats, Odessey Battery, No spare, lighter wheels, etc. Good Luck!

Soft top, wheels, battery, seats, steering wheel, radio/audio stuff, A/C, cruise control, spare tire.. are a few that should get you much closer to your goal

This, have your cage fabbed up in the a pillars and you will also eliminate that nasty ankle busting footbox on the floor where the cage comes down. I'm sure you have looked but check Krazik's Driving Ambition thread.

Could also Lexan the windshield and rear window. And gut the doors so that you can pull the glass out for tracking and put back in for storage/transport.

Lexans in rear will be doing doors with cage.

Had no idea Krazik shared his build, not sure how I missed that, thank you!

I don't know about legality, but you could probably remove the crash beams and replace them with lighter, tubular ones. I'd imagine it would be a custom job, but it sounds like that wouldn't be a problem for you.

Also, remove the air bags, radio, speakers, etc…

airbags have been removed.

Just seems weird, not sure what I'm missing here, I guess as the cage get's built we will see what type of weight can be removed.
