Default 235/40/17 Square Set Up

Hello, I'm new to the s2k community (used to track an e46 m3).

I'll be running 17x9 +45 RPF1's lowered 1-1.5 inches on KWV3's.

Given all the fender clearance issues I've been reading about here, I was thinking of going with a square set up of 235/40/17 Dunlop Star Specs. Has anyone run this set up before? any feedback on this setup?

Thanks in advance for your help!

way too small of a tire. You need to run at least the 245/40/17 and most people are running 255/40/17 on all corners with that same wheel.

Thanks guys. I don't mind the roll, just nervous about the fender pull i've been reading about because that will alter the way the fender looks (if I ever want to sell the car).

You can fit square 255s without fender modification, but you need a higher offset wheel. Sell the RPF1s and get some 949 6ULRs in 17x9 +63, or TSW Nurburgrings in 17x9 +62.

I believe pf01's come in +60 or +62 as well.

Thanks guys, I bought the wheels used so I can't send them back.

Just wanted to check if anyone has run a 235/40 square set up, but it looks like that would be a bad idea/very uncommon on the track.

I'll try to go with a 245/40/17 square setup and a fender roll, sounds like a bunch of guys had run this.

I'm running 235/40/17 for street use with a set of re050's. I don't particularly like the way it feels when driving harder, especially under braking. I use 255's for the track - rears are rolled and front fenders are c-west which give about 10-15mm more clearance. Note that you'll need to have a good amount of camber.

Nothing wrong with running 235s square but you are kinda defeating the purpose of getting a 9" wide rim with that setup. 255s is the ideal size for that rim which you can fit pretty easily with that setup if you dial in enough camber and get the front fender pulled a bit. Where are you located? Maybe that can help us direct you to people that know what they're doing if you're afraid of messing it up yourself.

I'm located in Queens, I would definitely appreicate any pointers/references to folks familiar with the car/fender clearance! Its a clean 23k mile NFR AP2 that I just picked up and I'd hate to mess up the fenders or sell myself short.

Thanks again!
