Default 225/275 RS04 on 16" stock wheel

Does it fit? Has anyone done it?
225/50/16 front
275/45/16 rear
I am concerned about rubbing the suspension parts or others.

Thoughts?

225s up front should be no big deal. 275s will fit in the rear as well but rubbing depends on how much, if any, the car is lowered and how stiff the suspension setup is. I'd be more concerned with putting a 275 on a 7.5" rim as that's really pushing it and may end up deforming the tire enough to hurt performance.

I was the first to do this. It does work, but I'm not sure its any faster.

I'm sure you can get it on the rim but the profile has to be all wrong.

275's will likely put no more rubber on the ground then the 245's simply due to wheel size. For instance. 225/50 14's on a 9 inch wide wheel are actually a tick wider then the 245/45 16's on an 8.5 inch wheel on our miata. Also your gearing is going to be a good amount taller.

I also wonder if the front to rear diameter Bias will screw with the ABS.

A couple of us in the Finger Lakes Region area are running Kumho 265/45s on the rear with no problems. ABS works as desired and treadwear is even (~32 PSI on asphalt). I'm going faster this year (measured by how close I am to the guy who was beating my butt last year - we're even in wins this year). I'm not crazy about doing this but the proof is in the results.

275s would really have me backing off...

275 with stock rims, I dont know. And dont worry about rubbing suspension parts because there are quite a lot of space inside. I think you will hit your bumper and fender before any other parts of your S.
I am running 245 on rear with 9.5J offset +41 and I had to cut some part of my bumper and bend my fenders to fit them in.
Personally, I think 275 for rear will slow your car down, too much friction unless yours is S is boosted!

sorry I wasn't clear about fitment, the 275s fit fine w/o any rubbing problems.

oh one more thing, these were with the R3S03 not the S04, so YMMV
