I get 6 days NP. But in a competetion, it only makes sense to use two sets which defeats the purpose of tires being cheaper (last longer)....youre going to use 2 sets to stay competitive... I know I would.

If you run NT01, competitors will need an extra set of wheels by default. Unless of course they have a truck and trailer (I believe you were the only one with that privilege). Or they don't mind throwing away money driving up to Laguna Seca on NT01. Point is, people who want to be as competitive as possible will already have an extra set of wheels, regardless of what the spec tire is.

Chris: a 2-set limit may not be the cheapest, but it's better than no limit at all.

Let's be real. This sport is not cheap. This 2013 Spec class has a cost of entry that exceeds $10,000, not including the price of the car.

I am probably one of the most cost sensitive competitors in the series, and I have still found it more practical to have two sets of wheels, rather than run on RS3 (or NT01 or whatever my competition tire is) on the street every day.

I would prefer not to have a tire limit, but as long as we can have 2 sets, I don't think it would change how I would go about it. I suppose if I wanted more sets, I could buy a personal set for a 2nd set of wheels. Then I could use that set for any session that didn't count or for those sessions not ideal to set your fastest time (ie mid day summer), pulling the transponder of course.

Yes, it isnt cheap....thats why I never understood the tire issue. The diference in cost between the two tires will be minimal. What Im trying to point out is that the argument is you could get 7-9 track days out of RS3's. But if it becomes the spec tire, why would you do that when you CAN use two for the year. The other argument was you could only get 4 days off NT01 ( I dont find that true), well, thats perfect then for the series. By the end of the year and the start of the new season, you shoud always end on old tires and start the season with new. You said it yourself,
Point is, people who want to be as competitive as possible will already have an extra set of wheels, regardless of what the spec tire is.
, which means people who want to stay competitive WILL use two sets of RS3's defeating the whole "7-9 track day" argument.

Also, what I mean is I have no need for two sets of rims. I dont drive mine on the streets far/frequent enough to need them. I was going to, but there was no need (for sale right now ).

Anyway, I really like the point system this year and you guys did a GREAT job on it. I may switch things up a bit this year

Chris!!!!! what is your secret plan?? help a brother out!!!!

Its not really a secret, but you would have to de-mod A LOT to do what I would like to do this year.

Oh yeah, I forgot about Mike T. He'd end up in Super Mod if he used r-comps. Or, he could use RS3s, which he did last year...

Since he was part of the rules committee, I'm guessing he'll be in Mod on RS3s like this year.

I'm in for an RS3 battle. I just need to find some more budget to scratch my mod itch.
