Were scales present at the track?

No, no scales at the track. Speed Ventures is in the process of acquiring scales, and hopefully they'll have them by ACS. We'll do the random draw for weighing based on this past weekend's results. Weighing for competition will be free.

Anyone can protest and ask to have another competitor's car weighed at any point. It will cost $10 to weigh via protest, and the loser is responsible for the $10 (either the protester who is proven wrong, or the other competitor who is shown to be at fault).

I had to remove my J's 70RR, and put in a 60mm test pipe. But the driver mod stayed in place--and that's what really counts.

^^ So, does that mean if we find an offender, we can have them weighed over and over to make them pay extra? j/k j/k

So does this mean SV will be offering the use of their scales at $10 a pop?

And what's the status on the membership? After ACS, will I be a member, having then been to two events?

^ Yes, the scales will be owned and operated by SV, not the S2KC. They will charge $10 per weigh-in. Members will have 1 free weigh-in for a baseline, but will need to pay $10 for subsequent weigh-ins. Weigh-ins for competition purposes will be free.

As far as the status on membership, the first event did not count toward the membership fee, since SV gave significant discounts there, essentially getting a "membership discount" for free. All subsequent track days where you pay full price (including at ACS) will count toward the membership fee. We're still working on hammering out the details, and any developments will be announced.

Great vids everyone (esp dorima - love it!). I've done BW in the wet and it's great and all...but I have to admit I'm glad I missed this one. Doubly glad, actually, since I got to help my little guy take 3rd in class at his Cub Scout Pinewood Derby, and 9th overall. (Interestingly, they had a timing system that gave results out to .0001 sec! No idea if that last digit was meaningful, but just goes to show even Cub Scouts aren't immune to the addiction of competitive racing.)

Thanks guys. I just got my camera the friday before the event, so i'm still learning how to use it.

I edited the video in Sony Vegas 8 but had to render the video with Vegas 10 trial version as 8 kept crashing

oh and btw, the british guy at the end of the video was my friends dad when i gave him a ride during black 3
