Pete,
Isn't that only the case for the Philippines-based divisions of the auto makers you listed back in like '78?
Anyway, before I did some digging, I wasn't aware they had any OEM ties anywhere in any nation.
Sorry to offend so many, I just didn't get as much of a feel of quality from the set I owned.

Rota makes wheels for subys that were hubcentric , had the correct size/width and offsets. In short, a great deal for WRX/STI owners. They were durable and cheap.
But some of the Rota applications listed for S2000 are not ideal, the sizes/stagger is not correct, they are not hubcentric and not all that light weight either. So in the case of the S2000, I would probably look elsewhere.

No hard feelings Redline, at the end of the day you just think of some wheels more highly than I do. I'm sure we'll both get plenty of sleep tonight

I think Rota takes a hit because they do knock offs (and knock offs usually are lower quality). In Rotas case, I think their cast wheels are roughly equal to many other companies cast wheels. Don't get me wrong, I don't think they are nearly as well built as higher end forged wheels but they provide a good bang for the buck for someone looking a a fairly low cost set of wheels.

It may well be the fact that their aftermarket wheels (at leas the ones we hear about so often) are knock-offs tarnished my impression of the company the most.
The knock off body kits and carbon hoods and such come instantly to mind in terms of the copies not being of the same caliber as the originals, and that may affect my view of them more than any quantifyable data.
I also agree about the fitments offered not being ideal fo the S2000. I'm sure almost all can agree too with you that they are in a different league than many of the high quality forged wheels on the market.
