Bill,

The car was tuned in 100 and I never used any regular pump gas in the car. I even drained all the old 91 that was in the tank to make sure that the new motor started up on fresh 100.

When you get back on the saddle, go see shad. He'll make sure you run right.

Hi Rob,

I have a question regarding your EMS Tune and your expired engine at Button Willow.

How did you compensate for elevation on the EMS since the AEM ECU does not have a barometer?

Did you run the car and then adjust the AFR while at the track in between sessions?

BlacTrax is located in Milpitas, CA at 16ft elevation

Button Willow, CA is 269ft elevation

I ask this because I have experienced issues with EMS not running correctly due to the elevation change. However, I do not know if this relates at all to your engine failure.

LOL you're worried about 250 ft?

What about the difference between the top and bottom of laguna seca?

^LOL I guess you are right. I always see a difference in performance from where I live in Chino Hills to Button Willow. The difference is a little more, about 800 ft difference. The only reason why I was asking is because of the EMS issue with elevation, but I didn't really realize the common sense aspect relative to what I was asking. Ha Ha Touche

Doesn't AEM use manifold air pressure and temperature, along with many other parameters in order to compensate for differences in conditions, the reason why Alpha-N sucks....

the knock data there is worthless.

that parameter gives you knock filterd by crank tooth. something internal logging isnt fast enough to pick up.

for anyone reading, the PROPER channel to read to get actual knock noise, unfiltered, is knock raw, NOT knock volts

Jason,

I'm sorry but I'm slightly confused as to what your are trying to say. I'm really sorry but I'm trying to understand but damn this stuff is confusing.

I know you broke it down but can you give me a more direct answer? Is the knock value shown above just worthless or are you actually alluding to the fact that the graph might actually be showing knock?

Thank you!
