1/8 mile, 1/4 mile and 1 mile races
Anyone out there ever run an 1/8 mile or a mile race?? I just came back from Old Dominion Speedway and ran 3 passes in the elimination series on the 1/8 mile track. Hell of a lot of fun but the race is over so damn fast! Also, a couple of weeks ago I went down to Maxton, NC to do 1 mile speed trials. Here are my results, let me know how they look:
1/8 mile Reaction 60ft ET
First run - .3564 2.2506 9.3767
Second - .1550 2.2173 9.2305
Third - .0994 2.0820 8.9249
1 mile best run was 136.00508 mph

Oh yeah, I almost forgot. The reason I put 1/4 mile in the title was because I wanted people who have run 1/4 miles to show me their 60 ft times. Thanks.

The 1 mile run sounds like a blast. I wish we had something like that here .
I headed to the track last night (Capitol Raceway in Crofton, MD) and made 4 passes. The temp was in the mid to upper 80s and 70-75% humidity, it was hot and humid .
1st run: ET 14.18, 60ft 2.14
2nd run: ET 14.88 (missed 3rd gear dohhh!!), 60 ft 2.16
3rd run: ET (I'm just not going to post this one, 1-2 grind and missed 3rd ), 60 ft 2.13
4th run: ET 14.21, 60ft time 2.24 (This was my best chance to get into flat 14 but as you can see could not get off the line too well )
I have an AEM CAI and SW388 wheels.

BlackS2000Turbo,
I was really hoping to run flat 14, that was not going to be that evening. I really thought that with a 2.1xx 60ft time I could do it , I ran similar numbers with 2.2xx 60ft time last time out so I'm kinda puzzled. I guess I'm going to have to get into 2.0xx 60ft next time. Anywho I'm always up for heading to the track again, maybe we can drag out some other members with us .

Tedster... no ETs but I was going a little bit faster than a modded M3, about 5mph faster than a Z28 SS. There weren't many "street drivable" cars there.
Mach... I'm planning on heading out to MIR this coming Friday. I don't know how far that is from you but maybe we could meet up. As for the difference in your ets... you have to keep in mind that the air quality was absolute shit. That can account for as much as 1 sec in the 1/4. Don't get too down on yourself. I believe the equation is something like every10 degrees the intake air is is an additional hp you gain. Something like that. What I do know for sure is that people were running an average of 10mph off of their mark in the mile time trials because of the heat. Let me know about next Friday.

Larry,
It was nice meeting you at Evo. I think I'm down for the trip down to MIR for some runs this Friday. Let's hope for some good weather.
Racer chick,
Those are some good numbers for a stock S2k. The best I could manage was a 14.19 on my very first run with just my spoon wheels. I added the CAI and was able to drop my 60ft time by a .1 sec.
