Default Whats the deal with Ap1 cams in an Ap2

As the tittle states, im reading about intake cams with exhaust cams mixing and matching, but ive heard you can get pretty good gains in an Ap2 (i have a 2004) with Ap1 cams in it with a tune.

I have a AEM 1012 sitting at home and im looking to do this mod before i tune it, if the gains are true. If someone could please help me on this.

Im also planning to lower my V-tec in the tune.

bump!
Someone said this in a PM
AP-1 cams can yield greater power if adjusted slightly when installed. I suggest you advance the intake cam a couple degrees. N/A you advance the intake. You can retard the exhaust a degree or two for even more power. Naturally aspirated F20c engines perform well with a little more overlap. This helps maximize the intake gas charge filling the combustion chamber resulting in power gains up top.

Since these changes leave you with less valve clearance it would be prudent to check valve clearances with clay if running aftermarket higher compression pistons. Factory pistons have good clearance with two degrees change.

I have a few precision ground off set Woodruff keys in one, two and three degree offsets to modify the cam timing. No need to purchase Toda adjustable cam gears.

Honestly, I can only see this netting you a few extra HP. Given the effort, expense, and risk involved in this mod, I'd say it really isn't worth it.
