Default Thinking of doing a ap2 swap in my AP1

Hi there I need some advice and I'm thinking of doing a engine swap to a Ap2 motor. I found a thread in here months ago but I cant find it now. I have a 2000 ap1 and I'm planing on getting a 04,05 ap2 motor only. So my question is would everything else plug N play trans, manifold, wiring, etc? would I have to run a newer ecu to get the same hp? please list any mods I would have to do to make this swap smoother to do.
The reason I want to do this swap is I jumped in my friends 05 s2k and I felt a huge diffrence in hp & tourqe and plus I have about 150,000k on the motor and it probly would be a better upgrade since I'm sticking to N/A. Thanks in advance!

Use your AP1 engine harness, ecu, fuel rail. The only thing you really need for this swap to be a success is the block and head of the 04-05 AP2 motor. Its a direct swap. It's easier to use your AP1 wiring than removing it and replacing it with the AP2 stuff. Good luck!!!

the fuel map(s) in the older ecus run richer than in newer models. Also, the ap1 ecu will allow you to rev the F22c to 8.3k-9k(if you choose)

You noticed a huge difference? Really? ive had both and i didnt notice that much of a difference. to get the most out of either set up you have to drive it like you stole it, drive it in VTEC, and you do more of that in the AP1
. Of course you can do that with your AP2 also, rev to 9k. Thats what i would do. 150k isnt that much if you have taken good care of it, what do you know about the other engine? if you really want to feel the difference Supercharge it! ive done that also, Good luck!

When I did the swap, I got the harness with the motor... Just pulled the old one out with the old motor and put the new one in with the new. Plugged right into the AP1 ECU and running great ever since.

The biggest difference is when you bring in a vafc. Lowering vtec and extending the rpm not only keeps you in vtec but keeps you in the meat of your powerband. 5k to 8.6k pulls very nice with this set-up. Vtec can go lower but that'll come later.

this i know but is it any richer than the 04-05 ecu considering its a 2.2 wouldnt it need more fuel anyways. wouldnt u loose the extra torque that the f22 has by running a ap1 ecu since its not mapped for it?

im sorry im just confused. i thought only reason ppl ran the ap1 ecu's on the f22 was the 9k fanboys i never read anywhere where the f22 benefits in any performance with the ap1 ecu.

someone enlighten me.
