Default Skunk 2 cams? Dyno sheets anyone?

Since I will not be going FI route, been thinking of changing cams.

Has anyone here tried it, if so please post what gains have been achieved, and also whether it would be a worth while mod.

Thanks

Why dont you race Zamo. That way you should be able to gauge the difference his cams make as you have similar mods except for the cams and the valvetrain.

Hmmm haven't read any post regarding the being successful using the Skunk2 cams. I however read that there were certain clearance issues wit it... Just not that sure so please dont take my word for it.

I always compare different parts by racing cars. It's much more accurate than using a dyno.

Jakes said the Skunk2 cams were noisy and there was a post that said they were pulled from sale for causing chain slap here: https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.ph...=635330&st=450.

The car made gains, but it was also tuned for the first time with alot (around R30K) of mods... I'd very un-scientifically subtract your gain with unichip/decat/exhaust/Injen from the one posted on HRC for a rough estimate of what is possible.

I'll wait for a few guinea pigs before I get cams... Skunk2 site has a new timing chain tensioner out for use with K series cams so they may be developing one (or have already developed one) for the S.

I'm also keen to find out what gains can be had from cams though...

Make sure you record the race! or let me be the camera car
