I wouldn't go as far as saying that swapping a F22 Tranny into in AP1 is like having 4.44/4.57 gears. People will assume it's true then do the swap and line up next to an AP1 w/ 4.44 or 4.57s and wonder why they get beat.

Here is the difference between a stock F20 and a stock F22 transmission.

For those wonder the math is:
(AP 1 Gear*Reduction Gear*Final Drive)/(AP 2 Gear*Reduction Gear*Final Drive)

F20...........F22............Difference
3.133........3.133........4% Shorter
2.045........2.045........4% Shorter
1.481........1.481........4% Shorter
1.161........1.161........4% Shorter
0.971........0.943.........7.23% Longer
0.811........0.765.........10.40% Longer

F20 w/ 4.30 4.65% Shorter
F20 w/ 4.44 7.66% Shorter
F20 w/ 4.57 is 10.28% Shorter

So you can see that by swapping in a F22 Tranny that gears 1-4 will give you a boost close to that of the 4.30 gears but no where near 4.44s and 4.57s

Do not run a block guard. They are completely useless. Do not rev to 9k. Piston speed is the enemy, not the walls.

Buy a sleeved block and use fordged internals if you want to rev that high. You'll probably find that power will drop off before 8000 or so, even with those Ap1 cams.

my f22 NA made peak power at about 8200ish. my roots blown SC'd f22 makes peak power at 8400

no need to spin an f22 past that unless your built motor with serious up top breathing mods IE big ass turbo, centrifugal blower, ITBS, or race NA motor.

I run a f20c head, f22c block, and an 02 cpu. Had the engine built at inline pro and it runs very very strong. I run 9k all day with just a valve job done to the head. Been running this set up daily for well over a year.

I also put down 221whp and over 150wtq when I dynoed the car with mild bolt ons at best.

I wouldn't say im the source of info on this topic but I do run this set up to 9k and have been for well over a year.

Also I run an ap1 trans with 4.56s and that works out well too. Car runs super strong excited to see what you do, keep us posted!

Btw im on a cell so sorry about grammer errors.

my project will be done the 21st which will be an ap1 with '00 ecu, f20 fully built head, f20 block stroked with f22 crank and 2.2 crower rods... compression should be 11.8 due to taller ap1 pistons while running 9k all day on pump. looking to put down 225whp.
