Mechanical oil pressure gauge?
I just bought a mechanical oil pressure gauge and was wondering if any other people were using mechanical type oil pressure gauges. I am curious if the hose is long enough to reach the oil pressure sensor unit next to the VTEC solenoid. If so, where are you guys routing the line, against the fire wall, behind the engine, in front of engine, etc??
Any info or input is greatly appreciated!
Please post pics of you how have routed the oil line to the gauge if possible.
Is there any other location that i can get the oil pressure reading from, other than the sensor under the VTEC solenoid?

I'd be very cautious of using a mechanical oil gauge in your cabin. If a line failed you would have hot oil spraying all over the inside of your car. If your are dead set on using a mechanical one, I would leave it in the engine bay.
That being said, I have an electric oil pressure and oil temp gauge and I'm using a sandwich adapter for the oil filter. Although probably not the best location it does give me piece of mind.

I was just about to say the same thing. I don't understand why any company even makes a mechanical gauge. I installed one in my car back when I knew nothing about anything, and it almost cost me a motor. The oil line is just a ticking time bomb waiting to fail, and if you don't notice the failure right away, you oil starve the motor.
