Default k20/k24 swapped s2000

Hey whats up s2ki...just posting up a little sneek peak of my k24 frank swapped s2000. Almost 100% finished. I have one more tune session for my nirtous tuning and some adjustments. I have some more black anodized skunk2 parts to put on the motor. Plus im going to change up the suspension setup and swap rims. Its sitting on ap1 wheels and stock suspension with lowering springs so its kind of a sleeper in my area. More in depth build thread with more pics and videos coming soon. Will be adding stuff i miss on this post...enjoy

K-tuned and Skunk2 are the main companies that made this swap possible.

*Numbers: not going to throw exact HP/torq numbers out because rumors on the streets but barely 300HP and over 200 ft/lbs torq on first dyno session.
Planning to extract more on second session and start my nitrous tuning.

Can you speak more on why you chose the parts you did and what your logic is behind it? And possibly do the same thing for the choice of power plant?
Other people will chime in, but I'd like to get your ideas because they are your choices. I'd appreciate it. Nice numbers by the way.

NA wise, its easier to get power out of a K-series engine than the F series. And the rod/stroke ratio of the K24 means that the pistons and rods are not exposed to the same loads as the F20 at the same RPM so its generally more reliable at a given RPM compared to the F

The k series has I-VTEC, as we all know this is an advantage of the K-series engines also, helps a lot in the mid range. Theres just so much support for them and knowledge that its pretty straight forward to get reliable power from them i guess (NA wise)? Correct me if im wrong?

I wouldnt really see a point in going the K-series if you go forced induction, only for NA.

A few quick questions that don't have quick answers if I may..

How high do you spin the k24?
How 'expensive' is the swap?
How much wiring is involved?

Why not just build a 2.4 or bigger f20 based engine?

See the previous posts already mentioned. Also, an f24c when revved higher to make more power doesn't last as long.

In my case, I'm also thinking of doing this if my motor goes, and it's mainly for cheap replaceable motors. It's a one time deal for future savings. If you track your car a lot - eventually it goes boom. A used f22c goes for around $3k. K20s go for about $800-$1000.

Blow two/three motors and you're more than break even on cost. Plus, it's much much easier to find and source k20/24. That would be my reason for doing this...

you basically can only do this on a ap1 correct? jealous of your setup, sounds like some serious parts and power

exactly...anyone doing any kind of competitive racing will save money. the k series is alot cheaper to build. theres more aftermarket parts and support for them. alot cheaper to replace or fix if blown. you can find the motors everywhere. it makes more low and midrange powere.....i can go on all the advantages of swapping a k24/k20 into a s2000
