Crispeed will need to chime in on that.. We played a lot with timing tonight and it smoothed the power band out.. No huge gains with timing tho..

not to thread jack or anything but where did u get your car tuned i live in frederick too right off of 40 near homedepot ive been looking for a good nearby spot

So what's everyone's opinion of the best stock cams combo for the AP2?
Some say AP1 IN/AP2 EX gives the best all around performance.

I'm trying to find out the same right now. There's a place called MSP right next to Creative Colors across from the Audi dealership by Costco. They are kind of a no-name but they have a 8 second something Supra that they built and tuned supposedly. I was going to go to Ptuning in VA but that's a 2 hour something drive. I'm still trying to figure it out depending on what tune device I get. I keep going back and forth between AEM and now the Haltech. And IDK what MSP specializes in....

To answer some previous questions, yes the unit is similar to the Aem, although I never had it I'll say this...The haltech unit is smaller and has one major harness plug that you just undo and plug in the oem ecu. Simple stuff. As far asthe software I have nothing to compare it to however, when Jeff was explaining some stuff on the laptop to me it seemed very easy, and I'm not great with computers either. I've been wondering this question myself... maybe someone can give me an easy answer. What makes the engine start up process so difficult for these stand alones' ?

The AEM requires 720 degrees of cranking to fire.. its the way it was designed to work.. It must see a full cycle to fire.. However the Haltech doesnt have that issue.. it starts very close to stock..

That's also i've read as well for N/A, Cheapest route to go.

I'm still new to whole S2k thing, hope someone who knows more can gives you better idea.

Yeah YouTube are killing it it with updates! I'll ask the most important question, any plans to do the I-VtEc conversion? That's my next motor mod, would like to see your gains.
