Default Insulating the OEM air box worth it?

So my current setup is a K&N drop in with a stock box (baffles removed) and a cold air snorkel into the oem inlet. I will probably ditch the K&N for oem due to better filtration. Will I see worth while gains if I insulate the inside of the OEM air box? I will be running track days in the summer if it matters.

A piece of insulation to keep it and the air off the radiator will help. The so called 'radmat' was the way to go in the early years.

I'm not sure you'll see significant gains, but I could see it preventing power loss over a period of time on a hot summer day.. Just me speculating of course. Nothing beats a CAI with air flowing right into it!

You'd want to insulate the outside of the box, not the inside. The idea to reflect heat away, not hold it inside the box.

I just did radmat on my K&N box and tube to help with heat soak during low-speed driving. Haven't driven it yet to look at IAT but at $25 all in, it's worth the experiment.
