i have this set up. heat soak was horrible during stop and go so i used 3m heat resistant tape on the entire k&n box and even taped across to the battery heat shield to prevent heat from seeping in there. helped alot.

I've had my car on a dyno sense I've posted in here lately. Just with the fan pointed at the radiator you could really feel the air going to the intake. However, sense the hood is up on a dyno and they can't simulate real world speeds, the real results have to be tested on the street/track, then analyzed.

Do you have any pictures? I'm debating on wrapping my heat-shield and my new stepped piping.

^I should add that my FIPK box is also wrapped. It's wrapped on the outside with aluminum foil wrap with a foam backing.

I will eventually remove the front bumper and remove the plastic factory shroud.

I wrapped my K&N box in gold foil. I have done this on both of my K&N intakes. I do not have any cold hard facts to support if it works or not, but I dont see how it wouldnt be beneficial in some way.

Haha. Yea I really took my time. Made templates then traced over onto the foil, then cut and applied. Also used some heat to work out wrinkles.

what really helped mine out was taping from the box to the battery heatshield. it blocks heat from coming through the giant opening near the strut. i taped it all up lol from top to bottom. doesnt look to bad either. imma pay membership so i can upload pics soon

Why not use photobucket or something similar?
