With the stock intake, there really is nothing giving it a direct cold air source, thus your results on IATs look consistent assuming you are the one with the FIPK and he has the stock box. Who has what wasn't mentioned...
Yes, my set-up was the FIPK/AUT combo.

But, what you REALLY should have done was swapped the AUT plate from your car to his, and find out how much of the result was from that, and not the FIPK itself...I'd bet the AUT plate with stock box performs similarly.
I was just thinking that, but I don't feel like spending the time to remove & install the plate multiple times. I will try to look at the other data that we accumulated (w/ & w/o rad plate on stock set-up) as well as another experiment where we will install a PWJDM plate w/ the hole for the air to come up from (where the new intake is supposed to go).

Just remember that by blocking off the radiator using the cooling plate you are not letting cool air hit the coil packs. They perform best when cold and will die if not cooler properly.
I read this too. Mainly occurred on high hp turbo setups. However, I still cut a square where the hood latch that was shown on the in ATL forums.

I love my AUT plate, but unfortunately its benefits, like some other mods, aren't really well documented by the manufacturer beyond some general claims about cooler intake temps. Its a shame the community has to provide the data that the part maker should publish.

I would think that since ambient heat is such a suggestive thing (heat, wind chill, humidity, elevation, atmospheric density, etc.) that publishing any sort of results would be a liability. The fact of the matter it does exactly what it says it does; its results all depends on a multitude of different factors (both with your vehicle, and environment).

If you believe the manufacturer, then you are an idiot. 99% of the time they post a result from a "once in a life time" condition, to get a big performance increase; or they lie through their teeth altogether.

it looks like it would def help feed cold air to the intake.

Unless you are REALLY haulin' ass, a cooling plate will not "feed" air to the filter. The intake will suck air from anywhere and everywhere at a much higher rate than would be forced in by the car's movement.

But their would be some forced in regardless, making the engine breath slightly easier. Plus, it's a source of cold air. You can deffinently feel a power increase in 4th gear(85+mph).
