can stock ECU work with low compression?

shouldn't be a problem, the ecu *learns* over time, it would just have to subtract fuel from the original basemap. It may run rich for the first few hours of driving but it should *learn* the new mixture and drive fine. Obviously it isn't ideal, but my engine builder recommended I break in my new 9.5:1 on the stock ECU, and he's a big name.

The fuel requirements won't change much with the lower compression. In part throttle, the ecu is in closed loop, so the ecu is continually metering fuel to maintain stoich. Under wot however, the ecu is running in open loop and will read straight off the map. What's the reason for lowering your compression?
