I don't really see how it would be bad on an AP1 and I'm pretty sure I've done two AP1's this way and they don't seem to have issues with blow by anymore.

Even if oil pools up in that pocket it shouldn't be enough to get sucked into the PCV with the other holes allowing oil to drain.

I haven't done anymore of these though because it's just too much of a pain in the butt to clean them out.

Ok, that's good to hear. I was concerned because someone in this thread said that they were getting more oil in the catch can after drilling the holes. I can see how this could be a potential problem on AP1s though because the valve sits vertically above the pocket. Having said that, I think a very small hole would be beneficial in that area. Thanks for coming up with this idea and testing it out!
