realy no more blowby on left hand sweepers?
Yes and no... accumulation from normal blow by gases will probably increase. That has never been my problem though. Oil was getting trapped in the baffle and simply flowing out of the front breather and PCV during right hand sweepers. In this scenario, the oil can not gravity drain back to the passenger side (of course you have to have left hand sweepers and other conditions to get the oil up into the baffle in the first place, but that is not when it would flow out...need a high G right to do that). This oil flow issue is definitely resolved by swiss cheesing the baffle.

Again, I'm not worried about blow by... I just want to be able to run the car for more than 20mins without loosing a quart of oil. I have data that proves oil pressure can drop to a low of 30psi by the end of a 20min session and it has everything to do with how much oil is being lost and how much oil is getting trapped in the head and can not drain back... It's creating an oil starvation issue.

very interesting - I have the 1qt/session problem only at one track but its the one I go to most. I had wonderred if it could be hurting the car.

does the baffle come off the valve cover? it looks like its rivetted on or something in the picture

Rob did you ever try a different valve cover to see if that fixed it? I really can't drill holes in the baffle due to sanctioning body rules but I'm wondering if getting a new valve cover will fix my problem - especially since there aren't many 06+ owners having the PCV problems that I am.

My friend has the spoon valve cover on his AP1 and he doesn't have any issues.

In STR you're not allowed to drill a couple of small holes in the baffle? You don't have to drill as many as Rob did.

If rulebook doesn't say you can then you can't...

It also specifically says that the PCV system must remain stock except for the addition of a catch can.

Maybe it can be brought up as an environmental thing? If you drill a few small holes by the breather and PVC then you won't even need a catch can and you can leave the plumbing like the factory inteded it to be. This is what I did to my friends AP1 who was having issues burning oil. He doesn't have any issues at T-Hill or Laguna.

It's -8An to 1/4"NPT. I was going to tap the threads, but found out that you can actually screw the fitting into the 14mm threads almost all the way before they start to bind badly. Instead of tapping the valve cover, I cut a 1/4" off the fitting so that the threads din't bind.

This way I can just swap the fitting and PCV for smog.

They do make an -6AN to 14mmx1.5, but I think Honda is 1.25 right.... plus -6AN is too small for adequate venting anyways.

I'll try and find a picture and post it up.

Thank you
This one doesn't have blow by issues.

BTW anyone wanting to plug the PCV off at the valve cover can just use an engine oil drain plug in place of the PCV on an AP2

Here's what I did but it has yet to be tested, I'm confident it'll work since it's almost the same thing I did to my buddies AP1.

BTW sorry for the crappy pic, it was taken with my iPhone and edited with my iPhone
There are a total of seven holes.
