I just tuned my VAFC2 on my MY01 and I was able to pull 217.3hp/151tq on a Dyno Dynamics, with K&N Fipk, 70mm tp & 70mm Single (greddy Ti-C)
Damn Really? Those are great numbers on a DD! I already know that I am going with the Greddy single, but I am still debating on the fipk or just sticking with the oem intake?

But after looking @ your numbers it makes me want to get a fipk as well. I hope/plan to tune mine as well but with the emu. I am actually hoping for more low/midrange then top end power! How does your car feel now? vtec transition pretty smooth now?

With EMU you'll probably gain more b/c I tuned with VAFC2. I was very happy with my results, my baseline on the DD was 208/149 so I know that my mods made power. I have the MY01 so it does run pig rich and there are good gains too be expected. I am happy with my combination of exhaust, tp, and intake.

My tuner had mentioned that he had a AP1 w/ EMS but his final tune didn't net the numbers that I got. Again, cars will vary so the numbers will vary because there are so many variables.

Go with the FiPK and you'll definately make power (not 20hp but a solid 5-10hp) and you'll be a happy camper. If you're hoping for more mid low/mid range you'll be please, I gained up to 20hp mid range throughout the powerband. I gained hp/tq over the entire curve, never lost power anywhere. VTEC transition is smooth like butta, as is the a/f ratios too. Check it out....

what about valve adjustments?
yes, you can pick up some valve lift by going to the tighter end. of the spectrum on the valve adjustment.

No problem, I like motivating others with the knowledge and experience that I have. I was wondering the same thing but as you can see by the baseline and the tuned graphs power drops off at about 8200-8300 so revving to 9k will actually not be beneficial for me. It's nice to know that the motor can rev to 9k but it's not necessary b/c of the power drop off. I was thrilled with my baseline and even happier with my tune results.

I thought about going turbo but I'm very happy with my N/A results and it tells me that I have a strong motor that has definately responded to the mods that I have added. I have been debating on a set of gears, and at one point I actually had a 4.44 and all the parts necessary to install them but I opted to sell it and go turbo. As far as other power adders, I think I'm pretty much satisfied with what I have. Just need a nice set of coilovers and I can pretty much say that I have built the car that I have always dreamed of. I also made a vow that I will be buried in this car. hahah.

Get a 70mm setup and pick up my J's TB and get retuned. You will pick up a few to several hp.

It's a real wakeup call to spend $$$$ on NA bolt ons and the price of an EMS to only gain a few hp. Honda did it right from the get go NA.

12:1 is too rich, thats defiantly hurting power

lean it out about 5% and rev it to 9. you'll go alot faster

12-12.5 AF is the best place to be IMO.

No it isnt, in WOT 12:7 to 13.1 is the sweet spot seems to be 13.0 to 13.1 on the S.
