kind of related but I too have felt disappointed after a build before. I did a full build on my boosted civic and it made the same numbers after the build as it did before so I feel your pain! the toughest part is figuring out all the variables. Even when you copy someone else's set up you don't always get the same results. For me, I got so pissed I parked the car...
Best of luck though. Your car is still one of the hottest out there.

I'd definitely check the compression. By chance was the car turbo before you bought it?
That number is way low for a DynoJet.
And your tuners statement about why he set the rev limit to 8400 kinda solidifies to me that he's not the best tuner out there. The F20 doesn't make power past 8300rpm...but if you shift an AP1 at 8300 you will be slower than an AP1 shifted at 9k. It is the area under the curve that's important...not where it stops making power.

Agreed... The S2000 is very efficient to begin with and making more power is very difficult to do NA... Most of these aftermarket parts for the S2000 allow you to lighten the car....
OP, post a graph so we can see how much midrange you gained... I would assume you have a much better midrange just from the huge gain in torque....

what do other s2k's make on this dyno? then you have something to go by.
do a compression test.
I gained over 30whp in some areas with bolt ons and the Hondata flash, so you should have gained some good power under the curve unless something is wrong somewhere. For the best power you must go with a 70mm single exhaust and test pipe.

my 03 on kpro gained 10 hp from the ECU addition and tune... i did a dyno before and after my mods are J's intake and mugen exhaust... the car feels great in the mid range i just assume the car wasnt meant for N/A/ power...
