Default Ap2 or Ap1 Tranny

I have a ap1 and my tranny seems to be giving out i was wondering should I fix or get another ap1 tranny or a ap2? I understand that a dream build would be to have a ap2 block and a ap1 tranny correct?

it depends what your goal is...if you want to stay n/a i would say ap2 tranny. if you want boost then ap1 tranny.

It depends on what you want to do with it. If you're an autocrosser, then I think the AP1 tranny has better gearing. However, if you just daily drive it, then I think the AP2 tranny is the best choice.

The car only has basic bolt ons intake headers exhaust.... Im guessing that the ap1 tranny has a closer gear ratio?

AP2 tranny has closer gearing and a longer 6th for cruising.

AP2 is better for AP1 engines, and AP1 tranny is better for AP2 engines. Supposedly.

slightly shorter gearing (4.29~ish) for the AP1 with AP2 trans. , and slightly longer gearing for the AP2 with AP1 trans.

i run a AP2 transmission with my f20c and would never go back

Yes, the AP2 tranny has carbon synchros rather than brass.
