4.44 motoklasse gear install
Hey everyone,
This is my first post on s2ki. I have a totally stock s2k and just bought a set of 4.44 motoklasse gears. They don't come with an install kit or a shim kit so when my car comes out of storage i will probably have to purchase those from HardtopGuy. I was initially thinking i would send my diff to Puddymod for the gear install, but I live in Canada so I think shipping would be $$$. Is the install of the gears very complex & would you trust your Diff at a place that has never done gears in a s2k. I would probably take it to a place that does alot of muscle car diffs and jeeps. Also how long would the total labor take if they were given the diff, already taken out.
Thanks

Hi Joel, anyone who is experienced in working with LSDs will be able to work on an S2000 diff. All they need is the backlash specs and torque specs for the bearing setup.
It can take anything from 2 to 6 hours i'd guess, depending on wether they have to shim it or not. Unfortunately you pretty much have to build it all up before you can check the tolerances, and if it's "out" then you have to strip it all down and recheck.
