well Im about a month and a half to 2 months away from fire up !!! life is also getting in my way of finishing my car early, I did say april 2013 and I plan on having it on the street by then. good luck with the new baby Im not very far off with that one either..... I need to finish this car before that is happening. I want no debt before that happens !!

this one made me laugh. so true. my first baby is due april 29. suffice it to say the car has had zero dollars put into it since i found out back in july. hell, the car barely gets driven rofl.

Awesome build thread. I can't believe how nicely it all fits together down to the gear shifter even lining up correctly. I was surprised to read the weight will run about the same as stock as well. Seems almost too good to be true. Tons of work to make it happen though. The labor on the fab work you are doing saves you a ton for sure, but just curious... how much do LS1 swaps like this usually run?

Also curious about your 8.8 axle choice. Does that mean you'll eventually go to a solid axle? That's the only 8.8 I know of...

Best of luck!

hey,

yes a ton of labour and custom fabrication to do the job, thats for sure.... the ls1 swap I got was 5k USD, I got it complete down to the driveshaft, all sensors, ecu, etc..... with 3 months warranty. $100.00 bux in gas and 300 for tax, plus 50 for food and drink for the mission with my buddy and his truck !!

the 8.8 i believe is the same as a cobra mustang with IRS, so it adds to the sprung weight of the vehicle in the back which will also help with corner balancing.

thanks for the interest.

Im doing final assembly this weekend it looks like ... that being said I think Im going to make use of the go-pro and do a time lapse of the install and fire up.
