Do you know what sizes are needed for the front VC vent and for the air pump?

There seems to be conflicting info regarding the front VC vent. Under load, is:
1. air being sucked into the valve cover through the front VC vent, from the intake tract?
2. air being sucked from the valve cover from the front VC vent by the intake tube?
If it is number 2, and a catch can is put in place and vented to atmosphere, there is no longer any vacuum from the intake to pull the air out from the VC. Is this detrimental to the engine?

Air goes from the vent, to the the intake. If you put a vented catch can there, it wont hurt anything, cap or delete the fitting on the intake and leave the valve cover vented, you'll collect very little oil there. Most of it will come from the PCV port.

That's what I figured. Does the amount of the vacuum from the intake actually suck more air than the valve cover puts out by itself? i.e. is the intake sucking more air than the vent can blow.

Just received my intake.
Should be able to get it ready so that I'll be able to do a baseline dyno on a bone stock AP1, then remove the intake and put in the 3.5" to 4" intake on the dyno and see the gains (hopefully!) or losses next week or so. Just need the Izze thing to come in and do the coolant bypass to make sure I can take it on and off in time on the dyno.

Dyno time is booked for tomorrow afternoon and fortunately the shop is allowing me to make changes on the dyno within the hour.
I'll be able to provide numbers for the following:
1. Baseline stock AP1
2. Throttle body to 3.5" to 3.5" about 18" pipe for each section with one 90* bend. Places filter in the OEM location
3. Throttle body to 3.5" to 4" about 18" pipe for each section with one 90* bend. Places filter in the OEM location
4. If time permits, 3.5" to 3.5" to 4" 18" pipe for each section with two 90* bends, places filter in the fender well - not keen on this as I am in the PNW where it rains. Alot. And it would take a while to get it fitted - may be able to try it with the filter hanging out somewhere
No tuning will be done, but hopefully I make some power!
