2000 rear differential going out? need help
a lil back ground info. my wife and i got her a s2000 that came with megan coilovers and t1r spacers for the diff. it has a 1 finger gap in the rear. i dont know the actual drop measurement. the car make s a metallic clunking noise when trying to drive that gets louder when you go faster.
i got the S on jacks and started the car up. put it into gear and the noise isnt as loud as when on the ground, but i noticed that the right rear wheel didnt spin as fast as the left. and i was able to touch it while spinning with 2 fingers and stop the wheel. but did the same thing with the left side and it didnt stop. the right side seemed like it wanted to spin but wasnt getting any power.
not sure what is going on, but didnt know if it would be the axle nut needs to be tightend? or i need to remove the spacers? maye the diff is going out?
no clue what to do. really need some help.

As far as the spinning goes of the wheels. The reason they differ is because of how a torsen style lsd works. It only locks in place once it detects a slip.
As far as the diff going out, change the fluid and inspect the old as well as the magnetic drain plug for large shavings/chunks.
Need a little more info or video of the sound. Try to narrow it down to where its coming from first.
If your axle nuts have not been tightened i would do that as well.
All the spacers do is move the bearing inside the cv bucket to a new spot. they are not needed for a lowered car.
