If test pipe mean straight hollow pipe, can I just bash out the standard cat ?

You shouldn't that creates more harm than good cause of the turbulence created by the conical diameter in the cat.

If the inside of the OEM cat was TOTALLY gutted, with no remaining material inside, then I don't think it would create any negative turbulance. It would just be an expansion chamber (resonator) with very smooth conical entry and exit..

Good info from that link, I have a T1R header n buddyclub spec IV single cat back, u think I should keep the cat stock?

If I were you I'd just buy a TP since theire cheap and oem CATs are expensive,beside that you're car is gonna sound better and gain what 2-4 HPs!

Edit.just remember to buy extra anti-foulers so you don't get the CEL if you have an 06+.

I do,that one is called the mini-cat,i just used 2 anti-foulers from autozone and the mini cat and i havent got any CEL in 250 miles and i have an 06.
