We weren't sure if our GPW car could pull it off since the 08/09 cars have a white window strip instead of black.

This is the new 3M CF film for outdoor use, (not di-noc)

What do you guys think? Best part is the wrap does not affect the original OEM paint underneath and protects it from chips/scratches too!

The CF looks great., what weave size is it? Also, the 8/09 GPW S2000's have black windshield trim unless someone's removed the film. Which may have been what you meant to say.

 

nope, the windshield trim matches the color of the car, the OP is correct

BUT the CR's come with black windshield trim

 

Weave is 1 x 1, this is a bit different from 3M di-noc that has more of a dull matte finish. This one is more glossy and made for exterior use from what we saw at SEMA demos.

Only CR's and cars before 2007 had black windshield trim. 08/09 cars have body color windshield trim (basically the black tape has been removed).


Glad you guys like the CF wrap, it seems to be quite effective without risking over-painting the original color of the hardtop. As these tops become more and more rare, people seem to prefer original paint so this is a nice alternative that has no permanent damage to the top. Plus the wrap is 100% removeable so it protects the original paint finish. The thickness also gives it some protection against scratches, swirls and dents.

I think it looks good, what color is the top? I could see doing this if I found a top that was the wrong color for my car but was a decent price.
