Wimpy weight savings with Bride Zeta III
I already had a Zeta III for some time, but this weekend I was changed out my OEM passenger seat for another Zeta III + Bride FG rails. So, I weighed everything on a shipping scale:
OEM seat + seat belt receptacle + OEM rails = 33.5lbs
Bride Zeta III + seat belt receptacle + Bride FG rails = 25.6lbs
that's about 8lbs per seat. now, that's cool in itself, but i was expecting a lot more because all the bride stuff is so minimalistic. the seat itself is actually pretty light--it's the rails that kill it. i would have gotten the permanent bolt down rails/brackets instead, but i couldn't conceptualize how to install the rear bolts, so i didn't take the chance.
anyway, there you go. bride buckets are worth ~8lbs per side.
on a side note--one good thing is that the seat can go much farther back than my oem seat when used with my harddog roll bar. the roll bar's cross bar keeps the oem seat rather forward, which sucked for passengers. anyway, the zeta iii would be much more confy for standard height people.
