Default What replacement disk for SOS Sport Clutch

Hi,

Before i call SOS, wanted to see opinions on what disk could be installed on the SOS Sport clutch. SOS told me a while back that they do not sell their SOS clutch disk separately. So what happens is that when your SOS clutch disk goes out , you would need to buy a new kit from them.

Out of couriosity, which clutch disk would be an OK replacement for the SOS Sport Clutch Kit? the OEM Disk?

Thanks

OEM disk or maybe an ACT? I wouldn't imagine that the disk would matter that much. I am sure if you called SOS though they could recommend something. Or they could maybe get you in contact with whoever supplies them with the disk they use in there kit.

You should always replace the friction disk and pressure plate together.

it is not the length of time, it is the abuse. if you abused the disc enough to wear down, im pretty sure the pressure plate took its tolls too. if, i constantly tracked my car, the disc would be toast, but just as equally the pressure plate is wore down from me kicking it in all the time. they are both wore down. i don't see how you could wore down the clutch and not the pressure plate. unless, you use the clutch on inclines at stop lights instead of your brakes.

The kit only has 5760.3 miles on it.
Gave 300 miles of break in for this new clutch... Sos specifies less miles than that.
I have never autoX my car.
1 drag event. (5 runs, without dropping clutch)
2 dynojet visits. (aprox 10 runs each visit)
Daily driving form march 2011 --> december 2011.

This has been the activity from this kit.

When i had my AP1, i used the ACT kit from HTG for over three years without problems. I even sold the car with the clutch working perfectly.

Since my original post, i have talked to other s2ki members with the same issue. So is very unlikely ill go SOS again, i will go with a kit from ACT just like old times. 2 clutch kits in a year.... Wow.... There goes my plans for some new wheels

If your pressure plate is that new, then I would just get a new OEM disk. Unless you are FI'ed, the OEM disk is great.

Well in that case yea. That sucks man. Oem is a pretty good disc. Alot of ppl uses the ACT pressure plate with the oem disc to avoid clutch buzz.
