Default Vtec engaement

Hello everyone, When I track my stock AP1 the Vtec will engage in the middle of a curve/corner. That increase in torque/power will cause the rear to get loose. Is there a simple & safe way to lower the engagment rpm? I don't want to get into a lean situation and cook a piston. And ideas/help will be much appreciated. Thanks you!

What year AP1 do you have? The cheapest option is a VAFC or NEO, which will allow you to lower VTEC and do some mild tuning. However, the better option is a standalone ECU and a full tune. With the right bolt-ons, you could have a perfectly flat torque curve with VTEC engaging at ~3500 RPMs.

the other option is to just drive around the vtec transition...something you will get used to after driving the car. what tires are you on?

Hi I'm on 255/40zr-17 RS-3. Not sure what you mean by "drive around Vtec transition"? Enlighten please. Thanks
