Lets get down to the "Gnitty Gritty"... I love this Country and it's Military Vets. However, it's a car with a vinyl wrap. He's not wearing a uniform to pick up chicks.

I'm also a former Marine and I earned the uniform. I would be pissed at anyone that did that who didn't deserve it.

Have you considered doing the seams without the overlap?

Something like that. I feel it might not be as noticeable. Unless you thought of it already and decided against it for some reason.

its pretty windy today so i took my mirror housing (mirror from here out) in and decided id do a write up on it since i cant do too much else to my car. the mirror has lots of curves and requires most of the techniques youll need to know to do the entire car. the only thing its lacking is a big flat area, which is the easiest part to do anyway.
here goes:
separate the mirror from the mirror base, there are a few screws that are pretty self explanatory.
cut a piece of vinyl that will cover the entire mirror and lay it on the front of the mirror.
start putting pressure on the middle of the mirror using a micro fiber cloth
start pulling the vinyl down and stretching it along the bottom of the mirror
apply some heat and stretch out bubbles then press the vinyl onto the mirror
now start working the top side
keep pressing, lifting, applying heat, and stretching, and pressing
i cut a straight line on the bottom of the mirror for the seam, then continued to work the inside of the mirror
eventually i got stuck with this bubbling, but heat and stretching took it out
now wrap the base
reassemble mirror

Wow man the results are fantastic. I was supposed to pick up an white STi for 10k and that would have made it easy but he sold it and now im looking at a blue Evo GSR for 12,000 and i want it to match my S so i will very likely be doing this in a couple of months...
Not looking forward to it lol.
