Default Tinting...

So since I wrecked the little thing about two weeks ago, I was wondering since they have to replace the skin on the top...

Is there a way to tint that damn plastic?

Maybe I'm confused, but what are you wanting to tint?

On my previous '01, I found some static cling tint at the hardware store and applied that to the inside. It held on for a little over a year before it started to peel. Other than that, I'm not sure what else you can use.

If they are replacing the top why wouldn't you have them put in a glass window roof?

The stupid thing is....none of their "vendors" have a hard top, and the USED soft top they have is priced at 950 something. I about crapped myself when I found out what they were paying and told them to use a internet vendor but it's against their policy and USAA wants it back to how it was prior to the wreck.

I've looked into the soft top with the glass but that option is out as well since they consider it a modification from the 2000 OEM =/

I just want my damn car back lol, I'll try the static cling stuff. I was also told through the grape vine there was a paint like spray for plastics, but I haven't heard anything about it and do not want to be the first to try it.

Do anything you can. Hell Id tell the shop to buy whatever insurance tells them to buy. Then buy a glass top online, let them install that and they can keep the plastic.
