Default Thoughts on SOS Bored Throttle Bodies on stock AP1

Sup S2ki community, I know I know this is beaten to death. But I just want suggestion if it is worth getting one on a relatively stock AP1. Only mod is the supersprint cat-back system that is nonresonated.

I can purchase one locally for $180, you think it is a decent mod for that price? And does it make the car more enjoyable to drive for a daily?

Bone stock? I don't think you're going to notice much but it's not going to hurt...

I just picked up one for my boosted S, but I've seen solid numbers for it.

Alternative is the BalladeSports, though it's not a bored out OEM one.

Thanks, if it's a waste of money then I'll spend the money elsewhere

You should definitely notice a difference in throttle response. That was the biggest difference I noticed from mine.

ok, how do you like it though? would you ever consider going back to stock? I still may consider it since I don't have to do a core exchange

I didn't get SOS but a friend of mine has it on his full bolt on AP1. He likes his as well.

I still have my Oem throttle body, but I often think about just throwing it away. I've had this 70mm tb for over a year and a half now. And I love it.

Get a Ballade Sports one. $99 from them (on eBay, you don't have to pay shipping). 70mm design and bolts right on. Only thing you may want to do is have the intake manifold port matched to make sure you don't have a 64mm opening on the manifold getting fed air by the 70mm TB.

I'm pretty sure the throttle response difference is because of the diameter, a larger throttle body opened 20% of the way is going to flow more air than the smaller one opened the same amount. I don't have any personal experience with this but I'm willing to bet a dyno run won't show any gains with it on a relatively stock engine.

Unless you port the IM as well.
