Default For those who have swapped cams

When running a different camshaft altogether (non-OEM) what type of tuning device can you use without going with a standalone and is it mandatory to have gears when you install?

Looking for firsthand advice thanks.

There are several folks who have done cams without cam gears. Unfortunately, no one has shown independent (non-manufacturer) dynos where cams have by themselves increased HP on the s2k. But perhaps you will be the first.

i also was interested in this concept. i have no intentions of changing my gears but was wondering what kind of help i would get from larger cams and i was reading about people doing cams with cam gears at the same time. any first hand experience out there?

Wow, even the manufacturer doesn't supply a before/after dyno to show the effect of their product? That's horrible marketing. I don't know how they expect to sell ANYTHING without at least that.

And additionally, if you're already swapping cams, it's the logical time to apply cam gears.

However, cam gears are worthless if you're not going to be tuning. Alternatively, it's possible to make gains installing JUST cam gears if you're going to be putting some tuning time in. At least on all other Hondas, so I assume the same here.

NA forum has limited info. This subject applies to any aftermarket cam change.
