Default Is there a DIY for cruise control button relocation?

I could've sworn there was a thread here somewhere that showed someone with an aftermarket steering wheel that added a momentary switch somewhere in the console that served the purpose of the "set" button for cruise control but I just can't find it again (I tried all possible search term combination). I don't care about "cancel" or whatever the other button is since stepping on the brakes should disengage cruise for me but I think I actually would like to be able to set cruise control again. I don't use it often but since I'm driving up to Watkins Glen in a few weeks which is a 5 hour drive for me, it would be nice to be able to give my leg a break. Anyone know where that thread is or if there is some other DIY for getting this done? Obviously I don't have a stock steering wheel on my car as I wouldn't be asking this question otherwise.

Thanks,
Steve

This?

Very easy, take a look at your shop manual. You'll see the 2 wires you need to connect the switch to, depending on which cruise function you want.

Not really, I have a removable steering wheel. Any pictures of which wires I need to connect to for the "set" button? I don't have a shop manual.

do you still have the clock spring? If so you can just plug the OEM buttons back in and attach them to you column.

You know what, I think I still do. I'll double check this weekend if I have time. That would be the easiest thing to do after all.

Actually i dont think it will work quite the way I was imagining. You would need to mount the buttons to the wheel (velcro or something so you can take it off) otherwise i believe the clockspring will rotate with the wheel, and if the cruise doesnt, i dont think it would end well.

I've seen it done before, but the search isn't coming up with anything good. I think it might be in the steering wheel thread.

Ok so I found this post by Modifry:

https://www.s2ki.com/s2000/topic/486...t__p__10468579

and then this PDF on the shift beeper install:

http://www.modifry.com/products/rlb/...nual%202.2.pdf

Since I don't have a soft top, say I wanted to use my roof switch as my cruise "set" button, does that mean I just have to wire the red/black wire for the roof switch to the light green/black wire on the cruise control module?
