Test Pipe size?

thanks for all the advice guys. i love joining car clubs that actually help as for the exhaust, i have been looking to see whats about, and plan on getting both the test pipe and exhaust at the same time now. i only really want the exhaust for performance reasons so am i better off going for a 70mm system. the reason i ask is on other cars ive had, if you use a exhaust with the diameter being too large you will loose performance. so am i better off with a 60mm or 70mm system?
lastly i have an 08 s2k and would like a dual system but am finding it had to find one. ive read throught a lot of exhaust threads on here but cant seem to find the answer im looking for. advise would be greatly appreshiated

Yes, Steve, I think with some cars, larger piping may be counter productive. However, I think with these, the less restriction throughout from intake through and out the exhaust, the better the car will run. If you don't plan on going forced induction, I'd say the 70mm would be a good choice. In my opinion, if you're going to upgrade exhaust for performance, 60mm is too small. However, some larger diameter exhaust MAY be louder, but don't quote me on that.
As for the system itself, it depends on what sound levels you want or want to avoid and how much you want to spend on it. Give us some more info and we can probably help you out.

well the car is new to me and as much as i would love to go FI i wont be going down that route for at least a year. i dont really have a budget but i dont want be be spending £1000 on an exhaust as if i decided to go FI i may have to get rid of it.
as for sound, i would prefer it to be a quieter system but im more intrested in the performance gains. i dont want to buy an exhaust if all it does is change the noise.
im more of a fan of dual systems due to the shape of the 08 bumper. is this all the info you need?
cheers

Like someone above said, you can always sell stuff pretty quickly here. So if you do go FI, you can always just sell your exhaust.
As for sound, Tanabe, Apexi, and Invidia all offer quiet exhausts that sound good. There's others out there as well, but those are the 3 I've been around the most.
