I have a chance to get a 1000 miles used T1R HFC for $100. My setup is otherwise stock. Eventually I want to do an exhaust setup, but what would this give me for now?

T1R doesnt make a HFC, they make resonated test pipes though which is probably what you're talking about. I currently have a test pipe on my S with the OEM exhaust, it changes the sound a little bit and I love it. Didn't feel to much of a difference in power, a test pipe gets most of it's gains when you get a tune. I say go ahead and get it and put it on, then whenever you get your exhaust later on you will already have it. Just try to get an exhaust that is the same size as the test pipe though for the best results.
