T1R 70mm V1 rattling apart...
Anyone else had a similar issue?
I've had my T1r 70 V1 for nearly a year now, bought it 2nd hand.
A month or so, it started rattling a bit. Initially I thought it was just the tip ( ), but listening closely, it seemed something inside was rattling.
Its been getting worse and definately sounds like something coming from the inside. I guess it cant handle 9k
Anywho....I love(ed) this exhaust, sounds great, looks good.. I am pretty much realizing I'm going to need a replacement, but worried about giving T1R another shot. Not sure if this is an isolated incident, or a common problem. I'd probably try to snag a V3 - anyone have issues with those?

get a different t1r exhaust with the updated models on quality, the older models seem to have poor quality. Some people with the older model t1r exhausts would have rattle issues or hanger issues.
I have the 70em v2 dual and drove 10,000 with no rattle issues or fitment. Welds are great pretty good quality so far.

i'm not bashing on t1r products but all i hear are bad things from them. lol. this and along w/ the other threads bout t1r products failing is the reason why i didn't go w/ t1r. i hope those who have t1r's are still holding strong tho.

I had a 70mm single V3 before. I would hear a loud rattling type noise at 2,700-3,200 RPMs and only in that area. Got rid of it and now my stock exhaust still makes the noise at those RPMs.

Exhausts won't last forever, usually, the baffles on the inside will last about 5 - 6 years. Overtime the vibrations from the exhaust will break the baffles.
On an S2000, that pretty good I would say, considering many S2000 owners drive the car hard.
If you're looking for another T1R, I would highly recommend a V3 if you can find one used, or consider the 70R EM.
